Christmas in Pyrmont is an annual street fair organised by Pyrmont and Ultimo residents. This year it takes place on Sunday 24 November, from 2pm to 7pm. It celebrates the festive season and promotes the sense of community, while raising funds for – and awareness of – local charities. In this way it also publicises community groups and promotes local businesses.
The fair is held on John Street (closed for traffic), and on the upper and lower levels of John Street Square. Children’s activities are held in the Pyrmont Community Centre. Entertainment is scheduled throughout the event, with a focus on children and families, live music and games.
The street fair is the culmination of a year of fundraising events (quiz nights, wine and cheese tasting, raffles). The organisers solicit sponsorship from local businesses, and select charities to benefit from the funds raised.
It’s easy to get here either by light rail (John Street Square stop) or by the 389 and 501 buses.

Christmas in Pyrmont Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation which grew from a group of like-minded volunteers living in Pyrmont and Ultimo. The group raises funds for, and increases awareness of, local charities and community groups, and celebrates the festive season, the community and the central place of the Pyrmont Community Centre.
